Cedarwood Essential Oil

     Cedarwood oil essential oil is extracted by steam distillation using the wood chips of a cedar tree. Cedarwood should be avoided when pregnant and should never be ingested. It can also irritate the skin in a pure form which is why its recommended to mix it with an unscented cream or carrier oil. 


Healing Properties 

      Cedarwood reduces inflammation and works surprisingly well on arthritis and inflammation in joints. Cedarwood can be used as an anti-septic to prevent infections in cuts and wounds. It has a relieving effect on white blood cells and immune system, helping internal function to work smoothly. Cedarwood helps to promote urination, which over time will help with obesity, high blood pressure, hypertension, rheumatism, arthritis, UTI, gout and accumulation of toxin in the system. By increasing urination the body is flushing out unwanted toxins (uric acid), fats, and excess water.  

       Cedarwood helps fight fungal infections, curing both internal and external infections. When inhaled it can relieve symptoms of food poisoning from plant, animal and human pathogens.    

      Cedarwood relieves muscle spasms, which can have a relieving effect on asthma, respiratory issues, restless leg syndrome and the heart and nervous system. When used on the lower abdomen it tightens the muscles helping the digestive system and eliminating diarrhea. Since Cedarwood helps muscle spasms it also relieves menstruation pains, and helps with mood swings and other symptoms caused by menstruation. Cedarwood regulates hormonal functions of varies glands in the endocrine system. Cedarwood helps eliminate coughs by removing phlegm from the respiratory system and improves overall lung function.    

Insect Repellent 

      Cedarwood can be used as a bug repellent, to keep away mosquitoes and many other insects. This works best when it is diffused into the room or area but can also be used on a lava bracelet, or diffusing necklace to help keep bugs away while working, or out walking.   

Stress and Anxiety 

     Cedarwood is a calming essential oil that helps soothe the mind of any anxiety or stress. It helps with anyone who is feeling down or depressed and when used at night can help with insomnia.  It can be used on a lava stone or necklace diffuser during the day, but works great when diffused into an room or area before bed.    

Skin and Hair Care  

       Cedarwood is also great when used in hair and skin care. It has anti-bacterial properties, which eliminates and protects the skin from toxins and bacteria. Cedarwood can relieve any dry or itchy skin, helping relieve enzyme, dermatitis and dandruff. When used in the hair it stimulates hair follicles and will increase circulation to the scalp, which over time will increase hair growth and decrease hair loss.    

Cedarwood Blends Well With 

     Bergamot, Clary sage, Frankincnese, Juniper Berry, Lavender, Neroli, Orange, Rose, Rosemary, Sandalwood, Thyme, and Ylang Ylang. 

Mix for Healthy Hair 

       This mix is great for your hair all around. It helps grow your hair, keep it looking healthy and decreases any hair loss. Would also recommend adding a couple drops of these essential oils into your shampoo as well. This mix is best used after showering when hair is still wet. It is still an oil one or two squirts will do the trick. On occasion you can soak the hair in this oil mix, leave it for an hour or two then shower. 

120ml Grapeseed Oil 

20 drops Lavender

20 drops Rosemary 

20 drops Cedarwood 

20 drops Thyme
