Lime essential oil is an antiseptic, astringent, aperitif, antiviral, bactericidal, febrifuge, disinfectant, hemostatic, restorative and tonic substance. Lime is filled with many antioxidants and other nutrients, which makes it a good food and oil for your health.

Since lime is an antiseptic it helps prevent tetanus, (still see your doctor if this is an issue) eliminates infections from the skin, mouth, throat, colon, stomach, intestines, kidney, genitals and urinary tract system. When applied to skin it can help with sores, rashes, gangrene, psoriasis, ulcers and other similar health issues.

Limes antiviral properties make it an effective treatment and preventative for coughs, colds, flus, bronchitis and other viral infections.

Lime essential oil can help to boost the immune system and reduce fevers. When lime is added to other food it can help stop microbes from spoiling the food as quickly (if using essential oil, make sure it is an edible oil).

Being an astringent lime can cure toothaches, promote gum health by strengthening and protecting the teeth from falling out.

Lime helps increase appetite by activating secretion of digestive juices to the stomach, making eating easier and increasing the feeling of hunger.
